ABOUT CANDYCE “MARSH” JOHN
Candyce “Marsh” John is an otherworldly artist with an extraterrestrial moniker and spiritually provocative existential style hailing from one of the nations most polarized cities, New Haven, CT. Daughter of a single mother and grandmother, Marsh largely attributes her ethic and success to them and they double as a muse for her work. After losing her late grandmother and her own close brush with death, Marsh delved into art as a way to transform her pain and plight productively while communicating her experience and sharing the lessons endowed to her with the world. With a unique style and extensive repertoire, Marsh utilizes wood, textiles and canvas, acrylic, watercolors and spray paint for a world of mixed media works. Marsh has an expansive artistic journey from her early self development as a child cartoonist to graduating from Gateway Community College in Fine Arts. She has been an arts instructor, published illustrator, muralist, tattoo artist and more. She has shown her work in various exhibitions in New York and Connecticut.
