Titus Kaphar Picture

Founder, President

Titus Kaphar is an artist who cuts, bends, sculpts and mixes the work of Classic and Renaissance painters, creating formal games and new tales between fiction and quotation. He is the recipient of the distinguished Jacob Lawrence Fellowship, a 2015 Creative Capital Grant, and the 2016 Robert Rauschenberg Artist as Activist Grant. His work is included in the collections of: The Studio Museum in Harlem, The Seattle Art Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, and The Museum of Modern Art, among others. In 2014, TIME magazine commissioned Kaphar to create a work of art in response to protests in Ferguson, Missouri. Kaphar's work has been reviewed in The New Yorker, the Huffington Post, the New York Times, the Washington Post and Forbes, among others. Kaphar received a BFA from San Jose State University and an MFA from the Yale School of Art. He is represented by Jack Shainman Gallery, New York. Kaphar lives and works in New Haven with his wife Julianne and their sons.

Jonathan Brand


Jonathan Brand is an artist and the recipient of the distinguished Pollack-Krasner Foundation Grant, several Canada Council for the Arts project grants, The Roberts Foundation Grant, and the Connecticut Commission for the Arts Grants. His work has been exhibited at The Queens Museum of Art, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, NURTUREart New York, Gallerie de Roussan, Paris, France. His collaborative work has been shown internationally, including at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Jonathan and his work have been featured in articles in The New York Times, the New York Daily News, Journal du Design, and on the Discovery Channel online. Brand received a BA from the University of Guelph and an MFA from the Yale School of Art. He lives and works in New Haven with his wife, artist Jaclyn Conley, and their son. 

Jason Price

Founder, Chief Business Advisor

Jason Price is a partner in Exaltare Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm, where he specializes in investments in lower middle market firms and family-owned businesses seeking growth capital to professionalize operations. Prior to that, he served as a senior vice president at Cigna Investment Management and as the head of private equity activity for the Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds, where he oversaw a $4 billion private equity investment program. Over his professional career, Jason has served on the advisory boards of more than 12 private equity partnerships. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of All Our Kin and the Promising Scholars Fund. Jason received his BA in Business Administration from Morehouse College and his MBA fro Harvard Business School. Jason lives and works in New Haven with his wife Christina and two sons.  

Carrie Mackin


Carrie Mackin of Mackin Projects is an art and business consultant based in New York City. With more than 10 years of experience producing and curating 100+ exhibitions and projects between New York and Florida, Mackin has built a niche consultancy specializing in career development and profitable business practices for contemporary artists. In her spare time she advises a private non-correlated asset class investing in fine art, rare books and wine, and serves on the art committee of Empowers Africa. Prior to moving to New York, she received her BA in Photography, a Master Certificate of Nonprofit Management, and served on Mayor Pam Iorio's Creative Industries Council while pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the University of South Florida.
